Today being International Yoga Day, I decided to do a photoshoot with my Marvel Legends Pepper Potts(one that was packed along with Iron Man Mark XXII & The Mandarin). I picked this Pepper Potts action figure as she looks packed for a Yoga session, thanks to her outfit! Though a toy photo session I took time did quite a research to figure out the poses(Asana) to make this shoot authentic!

International Yoga Day - Svastikasana - Toy Photography

I wanted to start the shoot with simple Yoga Pose called “Svastikasana” which is referred as “Auspicious Pose”. This may be relatively simple but for an action figure its complicated to a level! Big challenge I faced here is the pose symmetry!

International Yoga Day - Ustrasana - Toy Photography

The second asana Ushtrasana or Camel Pose is a bit complicated for even a novice but this Pepper Potts figure achieved it like a pro! Her abdomen joints gave me a bit of curve making her look more authentic! Blue Yoga mate is basically a cut out of foam sheet enhanced this beautiful frame!

International Yoga Day - Virabhadrasana 1 - Toy Photography

Next up is a slightly tricky asana and now we are getting into the experts level… this asana is called Virabhadrasana 1 and is one tricky one for me to achieve this. Yeah this Pepper Potts figure is not that agile as some other figures like Spiderman or Silver Surfer but does the job for now!

International Yoga Day - Vriksasana - Toy Photography

Coming next is Vrikshasana or Tree Pose is a balancing asana and any action figure poser/collector know the complexity of standing a figure in one leg! So getting this pose by itself is a challenge and was worth the time spend! I was happy with the posture but because of soft material Yoga mat, I cannot stand her in the mat so I compromised her to stand in the floor instead!

International Yoga Day - Dandayamana Dhanurasana - Toy Photography

Finally the most complex pose that I managed to get her do! Its called Dandayamana dhanurasana, which is an advanced variation of standing balance and I spent quite some time to get it! Most of these photo are all real, especially the poses, the mat and also the floor! The background and the floor texture are all added in post processing. Overall it was an awesome weekend and I absolutely had fun! Till next time… Ciao!
