Avengers: Infinity War is one cool movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I love every characters in the movie. Iron Spider in the movie is very funny yet smart, I like this character and his shiny metallic suit so much! The one piece that makes this Iron Spider suit stand out is his mechanical arms that pops at times giving him some extra grip and stability.
I wanted a Marvel Legends Iron Spider that came with a Thamos(Build A Figure) but on investigation found out that the mechanical arm was missing, so got have to say no. This got me into a tricky situation so googled a little and found one in AliExpress, which took all the right box.
Though not an action figure from an established brand but the package is neat and the shape resembles the Marvel Legends series package. The back side of the package is where it gets interesting and made me go mad! I wanted that Thanos and Iron Man Mark 50, if the experience with this is good!
Unboxing process is almost the same as any Marvel Legends but the catch is that this has two layers… The first layer houses the figure and four mechanical arms and the second holds a flight stand, with multi point articulation. The annoying fact is that the action figure and mechanical arm are fasten by a zip ties.
The most important piece of this package is this “Mechanical Arms” and they dint disappoint me! The arms are finished in glossy gold and the pattern is very nice! The arms comes with some sick articulation and they stay up giving us all the flexibility to pose them in a way you want to!
I would sat this flight stand is a bonus as I wasn’t looking for this! I was relatively surprised by the quality of this stand and the articulation… only cons being the build quality and I feel a little unsecured while playing with it!
This Iron Spider action figure has no problem standing on it own and very stable in this pose. When opened, this realized that this figure comes with no articulating arms and legs! BUMMER! And even the articulation on the other joints are poor! Even the head is fixed!!!
This figure is feather light at 70grams, which is half the weight of other 6inch figures in my collection! This weight is with those mechanical arms attached. Though this weight advantage translates into some crazy posing possibility in the provided stand!
Though a little disappointed, I was pleasantly surprised by the finish and paint quality, which in my opinion is better and movie accurate than the Hasbro’s Iron Spider! I can easily live with this if this is a Iron Man or War Machine as they are not much acrobatic in nature!
All the complaining disappeared when I mounted those four mechanical arms to the back of this Iron Spider action figure! The styling quotient went up instantly and I stated enjoying the poses that I could get with this arms. These arm give a very unique look to this figure and also attracts eyes immediately!
I am not very good in posing action figures but I did my best to get some unique poses that Iron Spider performed in the movie! The pose that love the most is the split that goes a long way and almost straight giving that ninja like look!
I know that this is slightly a offscaled action figure and you wont realize it scaling issue till you put him next a Marvel Legends action figure.. You can see our Iron Spider is towering over Iron Man Mark 50 a bit, which creates some series concern to be displayed along the other 6inch figures. I would say he is a good fit in the 7inc crowd better! This by no means a bad figure!! For USD 14.24 and free shipping it is a good bargain, if you don’t mind brand value and the articulation much. I will soon make a full review talking about all it pros and cons in detail… till then stay tuned, Ciao.
