The third in series Avengers movie “Avengers: Infinity War” is in for release this 27th, April in theaters and all of collectors are bracing ourself for mega superhero figurine release. Yes me included! I was in my favorite toy store “Hamleys, Bangalore” few weeks back and there was this entire pavilion dedicated to “Avengers: Infinity War” stuff and guess what took the center stage… Thanos’s infinity gauntlet. Next to it is Thanos figurines in all shapes and sizes! Some are technically toys that makes dialogues and then there are figurines in multiple price points and quality levels. I ended up with this Marvel Legends Series Thanos Figurine, which is the most promising one in the pegs. Lets unbox and see how he fairs.
The box is pretty much generic Marvel Legends, the purplish face of Thanos and the graphics with electrify lines makes the box a bit interesting. I personally like the aggressive face graphics of Thanos and his infinity gauntlet. The back side gives some hint about Thanos, which is nice and that massive pic of the original figurine, which unlike other boxes! I also like the top part with that infinity gauntlet like graphics, which fit this figurine the most.
This box is relatively heavier than other figurines in the same series. Yes the Thanos is physically larger than most characters so this is ok. Just out of curiosity I dropped this box in my trusty old scale and it read 355gms, which gives you some reference for future.
This is technically not an unbox but a unpackaging because this kind of a blister packing. Being my first Marvel Legends figurine unboxing I was not sure how to get this out… but the process is relatively simple and the entire case that holds the figurine came off in no time, fully revealing the figurine. The background has a sort of nice pink and blue extraterrestrial look further enhances the box and the blue armored Thanos figurine with yellow accessories. This background also gives that depth to this figurine.
The blister package is very firm and does an exceptional in holding this massive Thanos figurine in place. The package consist of one figurine and three addons… But when I opened it I only got two! But then I realized that the left fist and his wrist cover is considered two different add-on apart from his angry face.
This Thanos figurine looks exceptional when he is out! That metal construction gives him that butch look and I see him a bit slouched but that doesn’t takes away the fact his nature to destroy for fun. This might be my first fully articulating figurine and I am loving it already!
Though the joints show up a little bit but it is ok in most parts. I like poses that I can achieve with this figurine have fun in the process. Check out some storyline poses that I did with him related to the movie “Avengers: Infinity War” with my Ironman and Hulk figurines.
