Fatcat Collectibles is not a new toy store, they been in market for quite sometime. They had a physical store in Pune, Maharastra for so long and cool place to hangout in if you are a toy enthusiast. Down south they dint have physical store till recently! Yeah they opened their Bangalore store on October 2nd and it is on a next level and it is massive, their collection is top of the line in terms of Indian Toy Scene. I went in to check their store in Indiranagar, Bangalore (Google Maps link) to see if they have good collection of action figures, statues and anything else that could tickle my love for toys. Here we go..
Lets start with the big guns first… Yean I am talking about their life-size bust, and they have not one not two but three when I visited their store in Bangalore. My favourite is the Aquaman bust and it demands attention even when sitting on a corner. It indeed is massive and likeness of Jason Momoa is spot on even the hair and armour is recreated to perfection. Though he is surrounded by smaller statues he demand attention.
There two more busts of Loki and Skeletor, which are equally impressive but they don’t command attention as much as Aquaman! Skeletor is a beautiful rendition by Tweeterhead with top of line armour detailing and that beautiful head sculpt!
Loki also gets great details and his face sculpt makes you touch him to feel the material with which they achieved this level of accuracy. I was a little upset as they don’t have any life-size bust, which I alway love seeing and clicking selfies with, but they the owner said they may be bringing in a piece or two soon, fingers crossed.
Next one that caught my attention is this 1/3 scale Iron Man Mark 85! It indeed is massive and very well detailed as it is made QueenStudio, which btw is one that makes some crazy statues with crazy details. Though this is big it is not that intimidating as the next Iron Man armour Hulkbuster, this maybe due to the fact that the newer Nantech armours lacks details due to its build, no screws, panels or shield/armour to enhance excitement.
Hulkbuster is by far the most loved Ironman armour by any mean. And this Queen Studios Hulkbuster is one of the talking point for me in Fatcat Collectibles store in Bangalore, I had a long long discussion with owner of this store and most revolved around status and their placement, also about this Hulkbuster. This Queen Studios Hulkbuster is loaded with details to the blimp and you have come visit this place personally to feel the vibe of Iron Man here.
This Fatcats Collectibles store in Bangalore is definitely a store for statues collectors and everywhere you see you get glimpse of statues. I am not a expert in toy brands but I know few and their premium Batman statue collection is just wow. Prime 1 Studio Batman Zero Year is a crazy cool one and his stance on bike is just beautiful! There were few other Batman as well with beautiful display bases by Prime 1 Studio as well but the Zero Year takes all the cake!
There were few more highly detailed Iron Studios statues and Lobo Unleashed is a looker and the expression on the dog is crazy! Also the Prime 1 Studio Guts Berserker statues needs special mentions mostly for the display base, which is nothing but extraordinary.
Most toy stores now a days are filled with anime statues and toys and this Fatcats Collectibles is no different! Yeah they have two massive statues that is eating so much space even placed right next to their cash counter. The fist is the HEX Collectibles 1:8 scale Gaara of the Sand statue which is very detailed, very dynamic and very expensive as well but worthy too if you have 1.5L budget.
For anime collectors on a budget they have some cool selections as well… One Piece collectors will celebrate as they have some really cool collection from Bandai, Banpresto and like not the knockoff that you find around the roadside sellers. What envy me is their poses, which for the most parts is dynamic and would draw your attention right away. I only know Luffy and these two by Bandai are the top pick from their collection sea.
There were few more interesting One Piece statues and Zoro my second favourite character from One Piece franchise is there and he looks cool with some flame effects around him. Oden is a here in this coverage for his cool laid back posture and facial expression.
Even though the toy market is pivoting towards anime toys, collectors like who love Marvel and DC still go to toy stores like Fatcats Collectibles or The Entertainment Store with the hope of seeing few marvel action figures or statues… Fatcats Collectibles, Bangalore dint disappoint me and their Wolverine vs Juggernaut and Wolverine vs Hulk is a testament all by itself. These are neither big nor small, just the right size for most collector with decent budget.
Spiderman fan will enjoy scrolling through the aisle as well as their collection has a good selection of spides as well. My favourite is a Spiderman statue by Sideshow, which is extremely beautiful with a creative rendition of his villains the Sinister Six as well. This by far is my favourite statue in the entire store for me but have to skip writing cheque because I don’t want to open the pandora box of statue collection yet! This btw is quite big towering over 20inches.
Iron Studios products takes up significant space in this store as well, just like Pune store and we are happy. I was blow away by their spidey villains and Green Goblin blows away others in a heartbeat, yeah his display base is filled exciting accessories and effects to make him the baddest of the baddies here.
Fantastic Four statues by Iron Studios also was present here but may run out soon as it is one of the hottest items her as per the store owner. I believe “Jonny Storm” would be the first to run out as he is just wonderful followed closely by the “Thing”. All these statues are nice with beautiful poses and awesome bases.
Of all the small sized statues one stood out Plasticman, which is a fairly new statue in stock. This Plasticman is a beauty and you have see it in real to feel it, the pose is beautiful, finish is clean and smooth and his facial expression on both the body is just right to sit in your collection.
As mentioned, statues by Iron Studios are every where and these two statues has the best bases of all, the figures is not that great as I am not a big fan of Alex Ross Superman or Superboy. But their bases are just too perfect, Superboy’s base is detailed far better than the character itself and I like it so much. The case is same for Alex Ross Superman.
Yes Iron Studios makes some great Batman statues and these two have the best display bases that uses Batsignal as a prop. Both these have a totally different take on styling and they look cool! Unlike the Superman and Superboy, these two Batman statues have characters also gets exceptional details and the cape just plays its part. Deathstroke also has some presence and a good one too.
This Iron Studio Riddler is a classic rendition and done extremely well, if you like character remotely you need to get this, this is that good. This statue is a piece that demands attention and its like a scene all in one piece. All that you need to make it perfect is to find a nice spot in your display and park him.
Deadpool is my favourite MCU character other than Avengers so seeing many statues themed around latest movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” is a treat. They have two Deadpool statues again by Iron Studios both are extremely detailed and depicts the scene quite brilliantly.
If you on a budget and love to take a piece of Deadpool from here, then MiniCo Deadpool is your best bet! At under 5k price tag this MiniCo Deadpool by Iron Studios is a beauty on a budget and its not a compromise but a piece to own with full heart and soul for Deadpool.
For Star Wars fan, you have very little to feast your eyes but there is one cool piece you would love… Yeah every Star Wars fan loves R2-D2 and very few don’t like C-3PO so when Iron Studios put them both in single statue and captures that movie scene we Star Wars fan goes bananas!
Me being a diorama maker, love big statues that has props that make it a scene than a isolated statue, one of the best in my opinion… Its the “The Flash Movie Batmobile” which comes with a bat computer and Batman figure as well. What make this special is its massive size and great details which technically makes this a display ready diorama.
I kept the best for the last… yeah this btw is the best and a creative one that deserves a place in every Batman comic lovers display. This comic inspired Batman Family is a creative take on Batman and his extended family and I love the way it is done.
Overall I love this FatCat Collectibles Store in Bangalore and love to visit it again when they have more stuff coming in… I am not a statue collector but love this store, why because I love toys. For action figure collector like me they have quite a collection and unfortunately most/all of them are boxed, which is sad!
Their action figures collection is not as big as their statues collection but it’s quite good. Their action figure collection ranges from McFarlane Toys Batman to Avatar to some gaming figures. Almost all the Batman iteration but that one I need is not there the Dark Knight variant, which every batman collector is looking for too it seems.
Their G.I.Joe collection is big too but variety is not that great as their website, maybe their Pune store may have more. But when check with the owner, he mentioned that this is their flagship store and the concentration is mostly on statues and action figures are there just as appetisers.
They have some blister packaged action figures mostly with some comic background but that MJ in this package style looks very nice! I also liked their Street Fighter figures by Jada Toys, which is my favourite… I searched for my favourite character RYU but but he is missing so I kind of pre-ordered him!
My greatest issue with this store is its action figures display or lack of it! But that’s how toys stores in India works as most action figure makers left Indian market years back. Toy store import themselves so they cannot afford to waste their valuable asset on display just to get us action figure collectors excited. I get it and waiting for this to change, maybe someday! Till then I will got to stores like FatCat Collectibles and likes just to admire their statue collection and maybe pick some too. If you are a collector like me, you should visit this store and decide for yourself! Ciao.
